The Oldest Beer Family in St. Louis,

we have a legacy that spans nine generations since 1711.

With humble originals starting in the village of Oelde-Stromberg (between Koeln and Muenster), our family moved to St. Louis by the 1870s.  Having been involved in multiple breweries over the years, our previous brewery saw rapid growth in the post-war era, climbing to well over 1 million barrels by 1953 and at least a nine-state distribution in the heart of America.

This growth was fueled by a thirsty nation paired with strong community relationships, along with multiple radio sponsorships that brought baseball, basketball, hockey and additional professional sportscasts into the homes of millions of Americans.

While today’s brewery is far more humble, we are proud of this legacy and continue to produce the first-class beers our family has been known for making over three centuries.  Cheers!
